Create a Wikipedia Page (person, event, place, etc) and email me your document.
Research and make sure there isn’t a Wikipedia page already for your subject (or at least nothing substantial).
Try to follow the basic Wikipedia format and rules.

Week 10 Homework

Next week we will be discussing Flickr and other photo-sharing sites.
You have a choice of two assignments:
Analyze a photo sharing site. Be specific about what the site offers to the user and how users tend to use this social media site. Also discuss what makes photo sharing sites popular (compared to Facebook, Twitter, etc).
Use a feature on a photo sharing site to create something with your photos. Then send me the link or file. Be prepared to show and discuss in class.

Week 6 Homework

Research a social network site (SNS) that is an alternative to Facebook (excluding Twitter).

Describe how this site works and how it is different from Facebook.

Do you prefer this site to Facebook? Why or why not? 
 
Social Network Sites 
Web-based services that allow individuals to

(1) construct a public or semi-public profile within the site

(2) build a list of other users with whom they share a connection

(3) view their list of connections and those made by others within the system.

The nature and naming of these connections may vary from site to site.
